We offer selected partners the option to run server machines similar
to ours under their own brand, effectively acting as resellers of our
managed hosting service.
It works like this:

You provide one or more server machines, per our specs.

We install our MODUS software on these machines.
-
You deploy the server machines in a data center of your choice.
-
From this point on we maintain and update your servers in sync with
our own machines.
Brand logo and URL can be set individually on a
per machine basis. Apart from that our server boxes are brand-free by
design. You will receive a complete set of per box accounting data
and statistics each month, and it is up to you which resources you
charge your customers for, and how much.
Likewise, all other non-technical aspects, like
marketing, sales, customer support etc., are under your control and at
your discretion. Additionally, we can back you up with second-level
customer support (optional).
The advantages for you are obvious:

You do not have to invest in developing your own hosting solution.

You do not need to maintain the software for all the basic Internet
services.

You have to deal with just one uniform hosting environment whose
numerous instances stay in sync over time.

All revenue exceeding your local operating costs and the fixed amount we
charge is your profit.
As to scalability, up to 99 server machines can
be combined to a so-called cell. A cell is always at a single location
in its entirety. Server boxes can be moved between the machines of a
cell, retaining their IP addresses, for instance for long-term load
balancing. Network traffic within a cell is considered local and is
therefore not accounted for with regard to billing purposes. This way
customers with more than one box in a cell can synchronize their boxes
free of charge etc. A reseller can have up to 99 cells under his
domain, possibly scattered over multiple locations.
We are successfully doing this kind of cooperation
since early 2003. Our reseller partners are typically focused
regionally when it comes to business customers, and since they sell
our service under different brand names there is little market overlap
among them or with our own end user service.

Now, in case you consider running your own
server machines a little oversized for the time being we have a
"Plan B" for you which does not require any extra investment.
All you would have to do is rent server boxes on the system we run,
since those can be re-branded as well, on an individual basis.
As a prerequisite you need a .gif logo that
can replace ours (165w x 46h, with transparent background). Then,
in the box in directory '/box/www/data', you would have to
overwrite the following files with your own data:

By creating a local empty file 'brandannounce.html'
you make sure that our brand specific announcements do not become visible
in this box. All the other files in this area should be left untouched.
Finally, fill '/box/cfg/hostname' with a (valid) initial domain name of
your choice, remove all files under '/etc/ssl' and reboot.
That's it. Now you can just sell the server box under
your brand, or bundle it with your own services (web design, Internet access
etc.). If you inform us we will send the monthly PDF invoices to you by
email instead of putting them into the box. And in case you feel at some
point that it is time for "Plan A" we can even migrate the boxes you already
have onto your own hardware.
