If you are already in possession of at least one
server box, you can send us information in a secure (SSL) and authenticated
way which is much safer than email. You can use it to notify us of
changes in your personal data, for instance. In order for us to learn
which server box you would like to use for authentication, and therefore
which of our customers you actually are, when you click on the "Message form"
link below an authentication window will pop up (provided you are not logged
in already) where you can enter the necessary data.
You are required to log in as the user "bigboss", with the password of
the "bigboss" account in the server box you would like to fingerprint
your message with.
To protect your password we switch to SSL encryption
before any data gets exchanged.
Please note that we do not have your server box passwords in any of
our databases. We just check the
information you enter with the authentication system of your own
box. This implies, however, that in order to log into our system
your box needs to be up and running, and reachable over
the Internet.
For us to learn which box you would like to associate your message with you are
required to provide the user name in the form
bigboss@u????.c??
That is, after the user name "bigboss" we need the first two components of
the original domain name of your server box. In case you forgot the name
you can look it up in the file '/box/cfg/hostname'. Just replace the
question mark placeholders in the example above with the actual numbers.
After this authentication step you can proceed with writing
and sending the message.
